This includes elevators, escalators, chair lifts and moving sidewalks.

<p>The Ontario Power Generation Centre for Skilled Trades and Technology (CSTT) is a 60,000 sq. ft. building designed to shine a spotlight on industrial skilled trades training, innovation and education.

<br>Home to DC’s electrical, elevating devices and plumbing programs, students can innovate and learn in its many labs, configurable classrooms and a double-height learning space which is home to a two-storey building model.

<br>In addition, the CSTT features student collaboration areas, food service facilities and a brand-new 2,000 sq. ft. Fitness Centre.<br></p>

<p>The HVAC and GFIT Shop is used primarily by students in the <a target="_blank" href="https://durhamcollege.ca/programs/power-engineering-techniques-fourth-class" alt="Power Engineering programs" class="on"><strong>Power Engineering programs</strong></a> where students learn to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner while also gaining valuable hands-on experience.<br></p>

<p>The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) lab allows <a target="_blank" href="https://durhamcollege.ca/programs/heating-ventilation-and-air-conditioning-techniques-hvac" alt="Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning"><strong>Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning</strong></a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://durhamcollege.ca/programs/gas-technician-2" alt="Gas Technician 2" class="on"><strong>Gas Technician 2</strong></a> students to work on piping, hot water systems, air conditioning, ventilation and ducts using new equipment. This includes high-efficiency, naturally vented and gas furnaces, oil and hot water tanks, boilers, threading machines, dryers and stoves.<br></p>

<p>In the 7,500-square-foot Carpentry Shop, students in the <a target="_blank" href="https://durhamcollege.ca/programs/carpentry-and-renovation-technician" alt="Carpentry and Renovation Technician program" class="on"><strong>Carpentry and Renovation Technician program</strong></a> learn how to build energy-efficient, green residential buildings by acquiring a wide range of carpentry skills including blueprint reading, building code regulations, layout and framework, interior and exterior finishes and much, much more.

<p>Located in the Main building of the Whitby campus, the Power Engineering Boiler Lab joins a long list of training simulation environments offered at the college’s Whitby campus including energy, residential construction and carpentry and horticulture labs.

This includes older model vehicles for disassembly and re-assembly procedures and the teaching of troubleshooting techniques for newer model vehicles.

<br>This hands-on training helps give students the drive they need to succeed in today’s highly sought-after mechanical trades.<br></p>

<p>Students in the <a target="_blank" href="https://durhamcollege.ca/programs/crane-operation-rigging-and-construction-techniques" alt="Crane Operation, Rigging and Construction Techniques program" class="on"><strong>Crane Operation, Rigging and Construction Techniques program</strong></a> begin to understand the types and configurations of cranes and the science upon which cranes operate by practicing their crane operating skills in the Mobile Crane Simulator Lab.<br></p>
